An Oklahoma man broke a windshield and a gas pump before his arrest in Salina.
According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on June 3 at around 11:55 pm, officers responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of N. Ohio.
Upon arrival, officers located a tan 2005 Nissan Altima in the roadway with the front driver side tire detached. It was determined the driver, Jesse Hendershot (21) of Enid, Oklahoma, was driving when the wheel came off.
Hendershot became upset and broke the vehicle's windshield. While officers were on scene, Hendershot, who was still irate, walked over to a gas pump at Casey’s, broke the gas pump screen and took off running.
Officers pursued and located Hendershot in a northeast Salina area.
Hendershot resisted arrest but was taken into custody and secured. He was booked into the Saline County Jail in reference to Damage to Property and Interference.
The gas pump screen is estimated to be valued at $500 at this time.
