MCPHERSON -- The McPherson County Health Department today reported eight new confirmed COVID-19 cases. Four of the cases were connected to a local college outbreak, however the name of the college was not revealed.
Following is the information about the new cases, as provided by the health department.
Case identified Saturday
●Positive case No. 196 is a symptomatic 9-month-old male with unknown exposure.
Cases identified Sunday
●Positive case No. 197 is a symptomatic 18-year-old female with known exposure to a local college outbreak and is recovering in McPherson County.
●Positive case No. 198 is an asymptomatic 13-year-old female with unknown exposure.
Cases identified Monday
●Positive case No. 199 is a symptomatic female in her 80s with unknown exposure at this time and is hospitalized.
●Positive case No. 200 is a symptomatic 18-year-old male with known exposure to a local college outbreak and is recovering in McPherson County.
●Positive case No. 201 is a symptomatic 18-year-old female with known exposure to a local college outbreak and is recovering in McPherson County.
●Positive case No. 202 is a symptomatic 19-year-old female with known exposure to a local college outbreak and is recovering in McPherson County.
●Positive case No. 203 is a symptomatic 19-year-old male with unknown exposure.
Of the 203 confirmed COVID-19 cases in McPherson County, 179 have met Kansas Department of Health and Environment recovery guidelines, the health department reported. Four of the active cases are hospitalized, the health department noted.
