Wind chills to dip as low as -20 degrees; advisories issued

Wind chill advisories have been issued for counties in our area.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a wind chill advisory in effect from 12 a.m.-noon Sunday for the following counties in our area.

Ellsworth County

Lincoln County

Saline County

Very cold wind chills are expected. Wind chills as low as 15 below zero are forecast.

Wind chills could lead to frostbite on exposed skin. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Ensure outdoor pets and livestock are protected from the Arctic air.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a wind chill advisory in effect from 12 a.m.-noon Sunday for the following counties in our area.

Clay County

Cloud County

Ottawa County

Republic County

Very cold wind chills are expected. Wind chills as low as 15 below zero are forecast.

The cold wind chills could result in frostbite or hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.

The National Weather Service in Hastings, Neb., has issued a wind chill advisory in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday for the following counties in our area.

Jewell County

Mitchell County

Very cold wind chills are expected. Wind chills as low as 20 below zero are forecast.

The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
