Small Business Saturday proclamation, COVID-19 update on city agenda

A proclamation for Small Business Saturday and a COVID-19 update discussion are among the items on the Salina City Commission agenda for Monday.

Commissioners are scheduled to begin with a study session at 3 p.m. in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street. The topic of the study session is Kansas State Polytechnic Global Aviation Initiative.

The regular commission meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. in room 107. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.

Commissioners are scheduled to consider proclaiming Nov. 28, 2020, as Small Business Saturday in the City of Salina. Cassie Streit, owner of Stick It with Streit Vinyl Graphics and Sandblasting, is scheduled to read the proclamation.

Commissioners also are scheduled to hear a COVID-19 update from Saline County as a result of a request from Commissioner Rod Franz during the commission's Nov. 9 meeting.

Other items on the city agenda for Monday include the following.

●Hear the first reading of Ordinance No. 20-11044 levying Salina Business Improvement District No. 1 service fees for 2021.

●Consider authorizing a long-block engine replacement of landfill bulldozer unit No. 1851.

●Consider Resolution No. 20-7900 adopting a purchasing policy for the City of Salina and repealing Resolution No. 97-5138 and Resolution No. 14-7085.
