A local man was arrested after a restroom in a west Salina park was damaged early Sunday.

While they were in route, a City of Salina employee reported that the person on whom the officers were to conduct the welfare check had allegedly damaged a park restroom, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.
A witness reported seeing a man, identified as Cole Zobel, 40, of Salina, entering the restroom at approximately 5 a.m. Sunday and then hearing noises coming from the restroom, Forrester said.
A cinder block wall was damaged and a toilet was broken. Damage was estimated at just under $1,000.
When officers first made contact with Zobel, he allegedly gave a false name and date of birth, however officers were able to properly identify him.
Zobel was arrested on the following requested charges, Forrester said.
