A Salina woman was cited after a two-vehicle accident late Wednesday afternoon.

Hector Martinez, 20, of Salina, was westbound on Debold Avenue and stopped at the red light at the S. Ninth Street intersection, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The light turned green and Martinez drove his 2016 Ford Mustang into the intersection, colliding with a southbound 2013 Nissan Rogue driven by Rachel Sauer, 39, of Salina. Forrester said Sauer failed to stop at the red light.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m.

Sauer suffered minor injuries, but was not transported to the hospital, he said.

The Mustang sustained substantial front-end damage and the Rogue sustained driver's side damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Sauer was cited for disobeying a traffic signal, Forrester noted.
