Learn how to create a collage with handmade paper pulp during an upcoming workshop offered by the Salina Art Center.
On Saturday, Betsy Knabe Roe will lead a papermaking collage workshop at Salina Art Center Warehouse Education Studio, 149 S. Fourth Street.
Each student will layer a variety of his/her handmade pulps to create a unique piece, while also learning to color paper pulp for his/her color palette. Studnets also will learn embedding and embossing techniques to create a variety of textures.
A workshop for children ages 4-14 is scheduled for 10 a.m.-noon. Parents/guardians may enroll with a student. A second workshop for students ages 15 and older is from 1-3 p.m. The enrollment fee is $55. Sign up at www.SalinaArtCenter.org/Workshops.
Betsy Knabe Roe is a fiber sculpture and papermaker based in Kansas. She enjoys creating artworks that combine a variety of materials and techniques. Her artwork has been in numerous exhibitions in Kansas City and featured in international exhibitions in France and Ireland.
