Paul Llamas, 88 of Abilene passed away October 3, 2024. He was born November 21, 1935 in Saffordville, Kansas the son of Paublo and Maria (Santoyo) Llamas. He grew up around the Newton area, attending the local schools and graduating from Newton High. On August 3, 1954 he enlisted in the United Marine Corp. He was honorably discharged in August of 1957. On June 22, 1961 he was united in marriage to Mary Louise Alvarez-Hernandez in El Paso, Texas. She preceded him in death

August 23, 2015. Paul owned and operated Llamas Cement & Construction for over 50 years, covering a wide area from Larned, Kansas to Manhattan, Kansas. It would be hard to find a piece of concrete in the Abilene area that isn’t stamped with the Llamas Cement & Construction logo. He retired from his concrete business in the early 2000’s. Paul had numerous hobbies and interests but he could often be found outside taking care of his yard. Paul moved into Frontier Estates where he would make good friends. Paul is survived by his daughter, Katherine (John) Dobkins and son, Bernie (Annette) Hernandez, one sister, Carmen Sauceda, a special granddaughter, Michelle (Vance) Riffel, fourteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Louise, two sons,

Felix Hernandez Jr and Michael Hernandez and seven brothers. The family has chosen cremation. A visitation will be from 4-6P.M., Friday, October 18, 2024 at Danner Funeral Home. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be given to Hospice of Abilene or to the Abilene Public Library.
