CCC announces schedule updates for four T-Bird teams

Posted Feb 10, 2021 4:05 PM

CONCORDIA – Due to forecasted cold temperatures and COVID-19 related issues with upcoming scheduled opponents, the Cloud County Community College athletic department has announced numerous schedule changes taking place over the next week for four T-Bird athletic teams.

The first change affects the CCCC baseball program as the T-Birds have canceled their scheduled trip to Weatherford, Texas to take on Weatherford College on Thursday and Friday. Cloud County was originally scheduled to play three games in the Lone Star State but have made the decision to call off the trip due to the cold front that has made its way across a large swath of the United States.

Also making a change in their schedule due to the forecasted cold weather is the Cloud County softball teams as Thursday’s season opener for the T-Birds has been canceled. CCCC was scheduled to play a road doubleheader in Lindsborg, Kansas against the Bethany College JV team, and is now expected to open their season at home on Feb. 18 with a 1 p.m. doubleheader against the Ottawa University JV team.

In a COVID-19 related change, the Cloud County Community College men’s basketball team has seen their 6 p.m. home game against Garden City Community College on Saturday postponed due to COVID-related issues within the Broncbuster program. The change does not affect Wednesday’s game for CCCC against Pratt Community College or the Cloud County women’s basketball game against Garden City which is still set for 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Following up on Monday’s postponement, the Cloud County volleyball team has announced that their scheduled match with Hesston College will be played on Feb. 17 at 6:30 p.m. The match will take place inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium and will be the first of back-to-back home matches that week for the T-Birds. Any fans who have already acquired tickets for the match prior to the postponement should hang on to their tickets as they will be valid for the match on Feb. 17. If any fans are needing to release their previously acquired tickets, they should contact the Cloud County Community College athletic department for further instructions on how to do so.

Any future schedule changes that take place during the spring 2021 semester will be announced as they occur at www.cloudtbirds.com.
