Julia "Julie" Arlone Wilson, 86, of Salina, passed away Sunday, June 20th, 2021.
Julie was born in Bennington, Kansas on January 26, 1935, a daughter of the late Julia (Smith) and George Orner Sr.
She was raised in the Church of the Transfiguration, Bennington, graduated from Marymount College in music and education, attended Emporia State University, and Kansas State University at Manhattan.
She taught at Humbarger Elementary country school for two years, Tescott High School for two years, Southeast of Saline USD 306 for 32 years, and was a paraprofessional at Meadowlark Ridge Elementary School.
Julie was a member of the NEA, NRA, and the ocal county teachers' association where she served twice as president.
Survivors include daughter Jo Ellen Glassburn (Mike) of Salina; son James L. Wilson III (Cheryl) of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren, Tiffany Hull (Patrick), Shane Wilson (Lacey), Jacob Glassburn (Lesley), Rebecca Wilson, Bethany Wilson; five great-grandchildren, Kiersten Schmitt (Logan), Dominic Wilson, Khadin Glassburn-Heang, Khaleb Glassburn-Heang, Paxton Hull; 2two great-great-grandchildren, Parker Schmitt and one on the way, Raya Schmitt; and four nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother George "Junior" Orner, Jr.
Cremation has been chosen.
A memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 3, at First Church of the Nazarene in Salina, Kansas with Rev. Jon M. Fillipi officiating. Burial will follow at the Bennington Cemetery Bennington, Kansas.
