Shirley Ann Isin, 81, of Salina, Kansas, passed away with her family by her side, on Sunday, September 24, 2023. She was born on July 11, 1942, in Salina to Teddy and Lola (Rupe) Pihl. She graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University in 1964 with a degree in Elementary Education.
She was a Preschool and Kindergarten teacher for 41 years, even having her daughter, Kristina, in one of her Kindergarten classes. She was a member of the Salina First United Methodist Church for 40 years, and a member of the P.E.O. Chapter DL sisterhood also in Salina.
Survivors include her husband, Kutlu Jon Isin, whom she married at the Church of Christ in St. John, Kansas, and they had just celebrated their 50th anniversary on April 21st of this year. She is also survived by her daughter, Kristina Isin Litchman (David); and the light of her eyes, her grandson, Elliot Litchman. Also surviving is her dear niece, Sandy Reidelberger (John) of Smolan, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Virgil Pihl.
Family will receive friends on Friday, September 29th, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 30th at Salina First United Methodist Church, 122 N. 8th St., Salina.
Memorials to honor Shirley may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City or the Salina First United Methodist Church, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina.
