Multiple spent shell casings were located in a northwest Salina neighborhood after a reported shots fire incident early Saturday morning.

Officers were sent to the area of State Street and N. Chicago Street at approximately 2:20 a.m. Saturday for the report of shots being fired, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning.

A witness told police that there was a loud party in the neighborhood and that a neighbor had asked those attending to quiet down. A witness reported seeing three people walking to a red or maroon four-door vehicle that possibly was a Buick. The vehicle was parked facing eastbound. According to the witness, as the vehicle left, one of the persons in it fired several shots into the air.

Forrester reported that officers located four spent .45 caliber shell casings in the street. No damage was located in the area, he noted.
