Brandon’s life began on July 21, 1987, the son of Scott Alan and Katherine Ann (Egger) McCoy in El Dorado, Kansas. He graduated from Mineola, Texas High School, Class of 2005. He attended the University of Texas in Tyler, Texas. He worked in commercial refrigeration for Kroger’s in Texas. Recently he moved to Whitewater to be near family. He attended the Federated Church in Whitewater. He enjoyed driving around the countryside seeing all of the wide-open spaces in Kansas. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and target practice.
His loving family includes his parents, Scott and Katherine McCoy of Whitewater; sister and her husband, Amber and Kris Quintana of Mineola, Texas; paternal grandmother, Virginia McCoy of Whitewater; maternal grandfather, Ernie Egger of Garnett, Kansas; maternal grandmother, Frances Lee Egger of Augusta, Kansas; seven nieces and nephews, Aspen, Bella, Shelby, Maddy, Abel, Jericho and River. And his beloved chihuahua Boo, who he was never without.
Brandon was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and cousin. He passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the age of 33 years old. He was preceded in death by his sister, Heather McCoy in 2007 and his paternal grandfather, Robert “Bob” McCoy.
The family will gather with friends on Sunday, February 21, from 2-3:30 p.m. at Federated Church, 207 E. Central, Whitewater.
