Volunteers needed for Fall Fix-Up on Saturday

Volunteers are being sought to help with a variety of projects during the annual Fall Fix-Up.

The event is scheduled for 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at the locations below. Volunteers must wear face masks and bring their own water, snacks, and gloves. Tools will be provided. Social distancing will be mandatory.

Children ages 12 and under need to be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteers are asked to report at the worksites. Projects include the following.

Ashby House – Painting at shelter, cleaning up flowerbeds and removing debris and trash from properties. Meet at 204 South Eighth Street.

North Town – Cleaning the landscaping at 5-Corners, putting medallions on storm drains, and distributing flyers about water quality. Meet at 5-Corners, North Ninth Street and Broadway Boulevard.

Trash pickup at multiple locations – Picking up trash along the Smoky Hill River near the YMCA and the riverbed behind the Salina Community Theatre, as well as at Lum Felton Park. Meet at YMCA parking lot.

The Temple – Painting the lower level gathering space. Enter through the red door on north side of building, 336 South Santa Fe Avenue.
