After a pair of Salina residents left their home in the 600 block of North Seventh Street late Wednesday evening, they returned to find their front door kicked in and multiple personal items stolen.
Salina Police Department (SPD) Capt. James Feldman said at about 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, a 45-year-old and a 19-year-old man reported the alleged burglary to SPD officers.
The burglary occurred between approximately 7:15 and eight o'clock.
"Taken was a payroll check, a pair of shoes, an Apple iPhone 8, a black backpack and what they described as a lunchbox. Estimating loss at about $250," said Feldman.
Officers investigating the scene determined that the suspect allegedly attempted to break in through the back door but was unsuccessful. The suspect then entered the front door by kicking it.
Feldman said SPD officers continue investigating the crime but have no suspects determined at this time.
"They [the victims] did not list any idea who could have been responsible for the incident," Feldman said.
Salina Post will update the story as more information becomes available.
