OTTAWA COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 3:30p.m. Friday in Ottawa County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Volvo semi hauling a Cliff's gooseneck hay trailer and driven by Cole A. Perry, 28, Tescott, was eastbound on Kansas 18 just west of Tescott. Loads of round hay bales dropped onto the highway from the trailer. A westbound 2016 GMC Yukon driven by Whitney N. Swisher, 31, Loraine, crashed into the hay bales.
EMS transported a passenger in the SUV Connie S Sonnier, 60, Lincoln, was transported to the Lincoln County Hospital. Swisher was not transported for treatment of a minor injury. Perry was not injured and not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP. Neither the tractor or trailer had a tag, according to the KHP.
