SALINE COUNTY —A Kansas man lost his pickup but was not injured after a fire in Saline County.
Just after 5p.m. Tuesday, a 2002 Dodge Ram driven by 71-year-old Edgard Mareno of Wellington was southbound on U.S. 81 in rural Saline County, according to Sheriff Roger Soldan. Mareno noticed a fire in the bed of the vehicle and pulled over.
He was unable to extinguish the fire. When first responders arrived the truck and contents, valued at $5,000, were a total loss. There were no injuries reported.
