Fernando Ruvalcaba of (RV) Kansas Wesleyan University has earned the KCAC Baseball Player of the Week honor, the conference office announced Monday. Student-athletes were selected for their performances from Feb. 2-8 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.
Ruvalcaba had a stellar start to the season for the Coyotes, hitting .538 in the first five games of the season. He also had a 1.385 slugging average and a .750 on base percentage. He had a hit in every game, which included three home runs, and drove in 11 runs, helping KWU go 4-1 to start the year. He also drew 10 walks as teams pitched around him many times, and showed patience at the plate. He only had one strikeout the entire week.
