Three Southeast of Saline seniors are raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and as a result are participating in the organization's 2021 Students of the Year campaign.

Makenzie Boley, Dorothy Ann Sparacino, and Luisa Ortega have set a goal to raise $75,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Calling themselves the Power Puff Girls, the trio has dedicated their campaign to Cheryl Spare, the music accompanist at Southeast of Saline.

According to information on the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's website, "Students of the Year is a philanthropic leadership development program during which students foster professional skills such as entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management in order to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), the world's largest nonprofit fighting blood cancer. The title Student(s) of the Year is awarded to the candidate or co-candidates in each community who raises the most funds during the competition."
