June 21, 1926 ~ July 30, 2021 (age 95)

June Marie Tuma, the daughter of Walter D. and Nellie (Dickerman) Galey, was born on June 21, 1926 at Arkansas City, Kansas. She passed away on July 30, 2021, at the Belleville Health Care Center, at the age of 95 years, 1 month and 9 days.

June graduated from Belleville High School, class of 1945, and was baptized into the Central Christian Church, where she was a lifelong member. She volunteered at the Belleville Health Care Center and the Golden Bell Haven.

On March 2, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ernie Lewis Tuma in Concordia, Kansas, and to this union, one daughter was born.

June is preceded in death by her husband on March 20, 1994, her parents, two brothers, Lehem and Walter Jr., and two sisters, Thelma and Gale. June is also preceded in death by her daughter Beverly on March 3, 2013, son-in-law Junior Boyer on November 5, 1990, and son-in-law Don Peters on May 19, 2018.

She is survived by her granddaughter Karen Morgan and her husband Carlos of Wichita, grandson Randy Boyer of Belleville, six great-grandchildren, Mariah, Amber, Andre, Angely, Armond and Alecio, and two great-great grandchildren, Evie and Flynn.

Visitation will be Monday, August 2d, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, where the family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 3 at 10:00 a.m., at the Central Christian Church in Belleville, with Pastor Jacob Rice officiating. Burial will follow at the Belleville City Cemetery.

Memorials are requested to the Central Christian Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
