Ike Lunch & Learn: Sister Cities International

ABILENE-Sister Cities International will be the topic of the next Eisenhower Library Lunch & Learn.

The next monthly virtual Lunch & Learn program is scheduled for Thursday at noon central time.

The guest speaker this month is Dr. Carol Robertson-Lopez with Sister Cities International. The presentation will focus on the history of Sister Cities International and its impact within the people-to-people programs around the world. Robertson-Lopez will discuss citizen diplomacy and how it affects local politics, international relations and more.

Robertson-Lopez is the vice chair/chair-elect of the Sister Cities International Board of Directors. She began her involvement with Sister Cities while serving two terms on the Santa Fe City Council and six years as the mayor pro tempore. She earned her master’s degree and Ph.D. at New Mexico State University. Currently, Robertson-Lopez is the executive director of the New Mexico Children’s Foundation.
