Zeda Deniece Fouard, 72, of Salina, died January 29, 2023, at Kenwood View Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
She was born September 21, 1950, in Salina, the daughter of Nathan S. Ringer, Jr. and Hope L. Ringer (Johnson).
She is preceded in death by her parents, nephew Steven Scott Ringer, niece Rebekah Dee Weaver and great-grandson Nathaniel Elijah Bledsoe.
She is survived by her daughters Kayla Fairchild (Kevin) of Salina; Keri Spencer (Lloyd) of Valley Center; Gena Fouard of Salina; and son Daniel Fouard of Salina; her sisters Marlene Siefker of Salina; Renda Weaver (Martin) of Salina; and brother Scott Ringer (Nancy) of Tennessee.
She has seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Zeda was born at Asbury Hospital in Salina, Kansas.
She attended elementary and high school in Brookville, Kansas.
She married Clarence Fouard on July 11th, 1966. They enjoyed farming, gardening, church activities and gathering with friends and family.
She accepted Christ as her Savior on May 9, 1972.
She had many talents including cooking for large groups, cleaning homes and apartments, remodeling, sewing, cutting down trees and taking care of elderly loved ones. It was a common occurrence for her to carry tools and a Skil saw in the trunk of her car. She could turn a piece of PVC pipe into a shower chair in one afternoon.
She will be missed by her family and friends. Many were blessed by her sense of humor, wisdom, and creative spirit.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4th at Emmanuel Church Salina, 1325 E. Cloud St, Salina, KS 67401. Flowers should be sent to Emmanuel Church, not the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to Keri Spencer, in care of Jost Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington St, Hillsboro, KS 67063. Memorial donations will help defray funeral costs.
