Despite the frigid temperatures we've been experiencing lately, there is hope for spring, and with it gardening.

Healthy soil is vital for gardening success, and Extension Agent Jason Graves can help you get your garden soil in shape for the growing season.

Graves is offering Soil Health in the Home Garden, a webinar via Zoom scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday.

"Many are rediscovering the gift of nature in their lives after a year with a pandemic and a renewed interest in home gardening means a renewed interest in soil. Healthy soil is the vital foundation for success in the home garden. Help plant roots drink, eat, and breath the good life in your garden," Graves told Salina Post.

During the webinar, Graves will explore soil health including an expanded discussion of soil organic matter. Topics to be discussed include the following.

●Soil biology

●Organic matter

●Soil testing

●Soil pH
