SALINE COUNTY—There were no injuries after a vehicle fire in Saline County on Sunday.
Just after 6:30p.m., crews were dispatched to a SUV fire on Interstate 135 near the Lindsborg exit in the southbound lane, according to Saline County Sheriff's Operations Captain Jim Hughes.
The driver identified as 63-year-old Roy Lawson of Horton, reported he noticed the engine compartment to his 2044 GMC Envoy was smoking.
He pulled over and the front of the vehicle became fully engulfed with fire. Saline County Rural Fire District 2 and Lindsborg Fire District 8 responded and extinguished the fire. Estimated loss is $3,000.
