McPherson County reports 7 new cases of COVID-19

MCPHERSON -- The McPherson County Health Department on Thursday reported seven new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the county total to 238.

Following is information about the latest cases, as provide by the health department.

●Positive case No. 232 is a symptomatic female in her 20s with unknown exposure and was identified late Wednesday.

●Positive case No. 233 is a symptomatic male in his 80s with unknown exposure, is hospitalized, and was identified late Wednesday.

●Positive case No. 234 is a symptomatic female in her 70s with unknown exposure, is hospitalized, and was identified late Wednesday.

●Positive case No. 235 is a symptomatic 18-year-old male with unknown exposure.

●Positive case No. 236 is a symptomatic male in his 60s with suspect travel exposure and family exposure (family of 226).

●Positive case No. 237 is an asymptomatic female in her 60s with suspect travel exposure.

●Positive case No. 238 is a symptomatic male in his 40s with known exposure.

According to the health department, 198 of the total 238 cases have met Kansas Department of Health and Environment recovery guidelines. Four of the active cases are hospitalized, the health department noted. There has been one COVID-19 related death in McPherson County, the health department reported.
