UPDATE from the National Weather Service 9 a.m.: Widely scattered storms are possible this evening over central Kansas. The stronger storms will be capable of nickel to quarter size hail along with 50 to 60 mph winds.

Widely scattered storms are possible Friday evening and Friday night across portions of central and northern Kansas. 

Dime-size hail, 55 to 60 mph winds, and locally heavy rain may accompany the strongest activity.
