A McPherson teen was allegedly intoxicated when he shot several rounds of a firearm in a Salina neighborhood.
According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on July 18 at 9:50 pm, officers were dispatched to a southeast Salina neighborhood for the report of shots being fired.
Witnesses in the area noticed that 19-year-old Jaxon Ensz of McPherson was shooting several rounds of an AR-type rifle eastward towards Holmes road.
Residents in the area were able to remove the rifle from Ensz and contacted SPD.
Officers arrested Ensz and stated he was under the influence of alcohol.
Ensz was booked into the Saline County Jail for Unlawful discharge of a firearm within city limits, Possession of firearm under the influence, Disorderly conduct, Fraudulent driver's license and Consumption of liquor as a minor.
The rifle was recovered and more requested charges are pending
No injuries were reported.
