Clara Watts, Beloit
October 23, 1947 - September 6, 2022
Clara Mae Watts was born on October 23, 1947 in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of Kenneth and Virginia Yeagley Bledsoe. She died Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas at the age of 74.
She grew up in Salina, where she graduated from Salina High School in 1966. Later that year, she was united in marriage with Leith Watts. Two sons, Timothy and Richard, were born to this union.
Clara later went back to school to study business management at Brown Mackie College in Salina.
From 1975 – 1987, she owned and operated The Cake Box in Salina and Beloit, and decorated cakes for many different occasions throughout the years. From 1987-2010, she served as the secretary and office manager for Watts and Son Plumbing. After her semi-retirement, she also operated the Porter House Café for two years, and served as a home interior representative for many years.
In her spare time, Clara enjoyed following her kids and grandkids through their many activities. She also loved to travel, but spending time with her family was the most important.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leith; sister Judy Brown; and brother Danny Bledsoe.
Clara is survived by her sons Timothy and wife Laura of Beloit, and Richard of Versailles, Missouri; siblings Jim Brown and wife Wanda of Solomon, Virginia Lee Lessenden of Abilene, Jerry Brown of Central City, Nebraska, and Bob Bledsoe and wife Linda of Salina; six grandchildren, Tyler and wife Charley of Beloit, Tayler of Spencer, Iowa, Bradon of Salina, Brodey of Glasco, Briele of Wichita, and Brylee of Jefferson City, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jaycey, and Owen; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 10 at the New Life Church in Beloit. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. with family present from 5-6 p.m. Friday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church Friendship Meals.
