The temperature is set for the 12th annual Frosty Fun Runs happening this weekend in Salina.
This year's fundraising event, scheduled for Saturday at 7 a.m., will begin and end at the 67401 Plaza located at the corner of Ash Street and N. Santa Fe Avenue. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina will provide hot chocolate and cookies for registrants. 99KG will be there to provide live music.
The entirety of the registration fee goes directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina.
"It is a little bit different this year. This year with our Frosty Fun Runs we have our standard 5k Merry Mile and our Kid Santa Sprint, but this year we added something extra," said Cami Dinkel, marketing and events coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina. "We listened to our runners from last year and they wanted a longer distance so we added a five mile. It's gonna be cold, but it's gonna be fun."
Five hundred registrants are expected to brave the cold temperatures this weekend, Dinkel said.
Registration fees for the event are as follows.
New Frosty 5K: $40
Frosty 5K- $35
Merry Mile: $30
Santa Sprint: $10
