SMOLAN - A Lindsborg man was injured in a single-vehicle accident Friday morning in southwestern Saline County.

Deputies were sent to the Smoky Hill Air National Guard Weapons Range, where they found a muddy Andrew Goodwin, 20, of Lindsborg, Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning. His vehicle, however, was not with him.

The 2009 Mazda 3 was found stuck in a muddy milo stubble field off of S. Burma Road approximately a quarter mile north of Smolan Road. Rather than walking a short distance into Smolan, Goodwin headed west and ended up at the weapons range where he sought help, Soldan said.

Goodwin had been westbound when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a waterway, and ended up stuck in the muddy milo stubble field.

Goodwin complained of back pain and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center, Soldan said.

The case remains under investigation, Soldan said.
