The Southeast of Saline softball team manhandled their rivals in Sacred Heart in a clean sweep featuring wins of 7-2 and 16-1 over the Knights.

With two more wins in hand, the Lady Trojans remain a perfect 8-0 on the season and have opened up a 4-0 lead atop the NCAA standings.

Lexi Jacobson dominated game one in the circle, tossing a complete game in which she allowed just two hits, walked nobody, and struck out an unheard of 16 batters.

SES was able to capitalize on miscues by the Knights, adding opportune runs to two timely RBI for Jacobson and Chase Gilpin.

While Knights ace Emilee Blythe was able to keep the Lady Trojan lineup off-balance in game one, game two wasn’t even a contest as Southeast struck for 16 runs on 16 hits in a three-inning mercy rule massacre.

Lexi Jacobson, Jayci Burghardt, and Hannah Trimble combined to go 7 for 9 at the plate with 6 RBI while Brenna Baird allowed just a single run on four hits, fanning five more.

The Lady Trojans have looked dominant through their first eight games, outscoring their opponents 77-17 including three comfortable run-rule results.

SES will be back in action on Thursday as they return home for a non-league doubleheader with another 4A foe in Chapman.
