WICHITA - Kansas Wesleyan Women's Track and Field got its first NAIA National Qualifier and saw a school record broken as the Coyotes continued their season at the Friends Spring Invitational on Thursday and Friday.
The meet was supposed to run over three days, into Saturday, but meet officials changed the meet to two days to avoid possible inclement weather.
Madelyn Wolf picked up a win in the javelin throw and hit the NAIA B-Standard with a mark of 42.22m, narrowly missing the A-Standard.
Tamia Cheeks also set a new school record. She sent a new record in the heptathlon with 3939 points while also winning the event.
Corinne Hall finished seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.12m.
In the hammer, Elizabeth Stout was eighth with a mark of 43.33m, Aunisty McNeal was 24th with a mark of 31.93m, and Rosely Torres was 28th with a mark of 26.91m.
Dahn Hanlon finished eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.10m.
In the shot put, Elizabeth Stout finished ninth with a mark of 11.90m, Aunisty McNeal was 19th with a mark of 10.49m and Jadyn Mabry was 20th with a mark of 10.48m.
In the high jump, Corinne Hall finished 10th with a mark of 1.49m and Trinity Windle finished 13th with a mark of 1.44m.
In the discus, Aunisty McNeal was 17th with a mark of 33.49m, Elizabeth Stout was 18th with a mark of 32.01m, Jadyn Mabry was 24th with a mark of 29.34m, and Roselyn Torres was 30th with a mark of 25.67m.
