The Southeast of Saline Lady Trojans came up short at the hands of fourth ranked Clay Center tonight by a final score of 49-32.

With this loss, Southeast falls to 3-4 while the undefeated Tigers remain perfect at 5-0

SES fought hard, but couldn’t overcome the inside game of Clara Edwards, who finished her night with 21 points, the only Tiger in double digits.

“We like to come out and run a full court press but we knew we weren't going to be able to do that tonight,” SES head coach Shauna Smith said. “When we made mistakes they really countered us on the inside.”

Karsyn Schlesener finished with 12 points to lead the Lady Trojans, the only player in double digits.

While Southeast came up short tonight, the rebounding efforts of Lexi Jacobson and Mallorie Pearson helped to limit second chance opportunities for the Tigers.

“Lexi is relentless and I thought tonight she did a great job of going after the ball tonight,” Smith said. “Mallorie did a great job too and that’s something we need night in and night out from both of them.”

The Lady Trojans will be back in action on Thursday when they face Beloit ahead of the Sterling Invitational
