According to information in the commission meeting packet, the department originally applied for a $10,000 grant, however, because it was the only applicant in its particular category of the block grant, the department "was requested by the City of Salina to apply for the available funding of $35,000."
Additionally, senior services is requesting that a 65-inch Samsung television that no longer works be declared of no value so that it can be disposed of.
Rosie Walter, senior services director, also is scheduled to present a quarterly department update.
