August 14, 1945 - September 24, 2022

Karen’s life began on August 14, 1945, in Herington.  She is the daughter of Alfred and Darlene (Helbach) Sondergard. 

Karen was a 1963 graduate of Centre High School. 

She worked for the Extension Office in Marion for several years and later as an engineering tech for KDOT. 

Karen was united in marriage to Robert Ehrlich on June 16, 1979, at the Marion Christian Church where she was an active member.  Family was very important to Karen and Bob.  She loved her children and grandchildren. 

Karen is survived by Mike (Kathy) Ehrlich of Marion, Gary (Diane) Ehrlich of Dodge City, Julie (David) Sellmeyer of Vinita, OK, Sheri Schwab of Raleigh, NC, and Lorie (Alan) Salts of Leawood, KS.; grandchildren Sam ( Nyalok Nhial) Ehrlich, Katey ( Derek) Evans, Wyatt (Ricky Acero) Ehrlich, Dr. Codi ( Reuben Jimenez) Ehrlich, M.D., Sam Salts and Shae Salts; great grandchildren Kaimey, Skylar and Archer; sisters Marilyn (Jim) Peterson of Burdick and Kaye ( Lyle Cirkel) Risser of Tecumseh, OK; and several nieces and nephews. 

Karen passed away on Saturday September 24, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Marion. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob and a nephew, Brian Pagenkopf. 

Her funeral service will be held at Marion Christian Church on Saturday October 29, 2022 at 2 p.m.  

Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Marion Library or Victory in the Valley, Cancer Services, 3755 East Douglas Ave., Wichita, Kansas 67218.
