The Southeast of Saline baseball team picked up a Friday split with a 4A foe in Abilene, narrowly falling 5-4 in game one but rallying to take game two 6-3.
The Trojans built an early lead on the Cowboys in game one, scoring two runs in each of the first two frames to jump out to a 4-0 advantage.
Landen Allen looked great on the bump, tossing five innings of two-hit shutout ball and tallying five strikeouts before turning things over to the Trojan bullpen in the sixth.
Abilene was able to scratch two runs across in the sixth to cut the deficit in half, and scored one more on an RBI single in the seventh before two untimely errors allowed the tying and walk-off runs to come around.
The Cowboys picked up where they left off in game two taking a 1-0 lead on an RBI single in the first but the Trojans countered with a five-run explosion in the top of the second to reclaim a 5-1 lead.
Abilene would find two more runs in the third but SES would hang on for the win, adding one final insurance run in the seventh to take a 6-3 victory.
Jake Gebhardt looked excellent in relief, tossing 4.2 innings of hitless shutout ball, striking out six, and walking just two.
The top of the Trojan lineup came alive in game two as well tallying four RBI in four official at-bats.
SES will be back in action with a league doubleheader on Tuesday as they prepare to host the Sacred Heart Knights.
