A Salina woman lost her purse and its contents after someone broke into her vehicle in west Salina.
Ashley Appleby, 34, of Salina, reported to police that sometime between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday someone shattered the driver's side window of her 2016 Chevrolet Equinox while it was parked in front of her residence in the 600 block of Viemont, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning.
It appeared that someone threw a chunk of concrete at the vehicle, which dented the window frame and shattered the window, he explained. The subject then reached into the vehicle and took a white Miss Me purse and its contents, Forrester noted.
Total loss with damage and theft is valued at $1,000, according to Forrester.
