Mary “Ann” Headrick, 79, of Salina, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023 at Presbyterian Manor, with her family by her side. She was born in Corpus Christi, TX, to John Q. and Marjorie (Gibbons) Royce, on November 4, 1943. Ann graduated from Salina High School in 1961 and attended Kansas Wesleyan University. Ann married Terry Headrick, December 29, 1970.
In 1977, Ann helped start the medical student residency program at Smoky Hill Family Practice and was the business manager for many years. Following her career in health care administration, Ann was a successful real estate agent which eventually led to her becoming a mortgage loan officer. After retirement, Ann and her husband, Terry, enjoyed spending time with their granddaughters, traveling, collecting antiques, volunteering at the Smoky Hill River Festival and serving in various roles at what is now Theatre Salina.
Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Meares, and husband David; grandchildren, Emily Meares and Katharine Meares, all of Salina; sisters, Martha Jean “Twinkie” Wood, and husband Bob, of Lancaster, CA, and Sally Royce Finch of Salina.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Terrance “Terry”; and her parents.
Cremation has been chosen. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Ryan Mortuary.
