This week, the Kansas Department of Transportation began a mill and overlay on Kansas Highway 4 and Kansas Highway 104 in Saline County.
Work on K-4 will begin at the south city limits of Gypsum and continue west to the K-4/Interstate 135 junction. Work on K-104 will continue north from the K-4/K-104 junction to the I-135/Mentor Road junction.
Flaggers and a pilot car will direct one lane of traffic through the construction zone. Drivers should be prepared for a delay of up to 15 minutes and plan extra time in their travel schedules.
APAC-Kansas Inc. of Hutchinson is the prime contractor and has scheduled this $2.34 million project to be completed by November, weather permitting.
KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all highway construction projects across Kansas, go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
