MARION COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 3p.m. Friday in Marion County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Nissan Maxima driven by Mallory Anne Seirer, 19, Newton was westbound on U.S. 50. three and one half miles east of the U.S. 77 Junction.
The Nissan was passing a 2004 Freightliner semi driven by David Allen Williams, 52, Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Seirer observed an eastbound vehicle. She swerved, lost control of the Nissan and struck the semi. After impact the Nissan traveled across the eastbound lanes and came to a rest in the south ditch.
EMS transported Seirer to Wesley Medical Center. Williams was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
