Charles R. Matthews, 83, Tescott, died Friday, March 26, 2021 at his home. He was born July 28, 1937 in Tescott to Darius H. and Sylvia (Husted) Matthews.
He worked for Northern Natural Gas for many years. Charles was currently the Mayor of Tescott since being elected in 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ivan.
Survivors are his wife, JoAnn; son, Michael (Carolyn) Matthews; daughter, Amy Matthews; brother, George (Jean) Matthews; sister-in-law, Edna Matthews; and one granddaughter, Kelsey Matthews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., March 31 at the Tescott United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00.
