SAUW shares details about Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program for Salina Area Residents

The Salina Area United Way is excited to announce the return of its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, providing free tax preparation services for qualifying individuals and families. Intake for the program will open on Monday, February 3, 2025, and run through Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

Key Details:

-Location: Salina Area United Way, 113 N 7th St., Salina, KS

-Intake Hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays | 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

-Intake Forms: Available starting January 31, 2025, outside the Salina Area United Way doors.

Important Note:

-Intake and scheduling of appointments are first come, first served.

-Doors to the Salina Area United Way will remain locked except during intake hours.

-Final Intake Deadline: Intake will firmly close on March 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM. After that date, no new tax return clients will be accepted.

The VITA program is staffed by IRS-Certified volunteers. VITA is designed to help individuals and families with low-to-moderate incomes file their taxes accurately and on time while ensuring they receive the credits and refunds they are entitled to. This service is offered free of charge by IRS-certified volunteers committed to strengthening our community.
