Red Fern Booksellers will host author Michael Travis in conversation with Guy Gross on Wednesday, April 3, at 6 p.m. The event will be held at the bookstore at 106 S Santa Fe Avenue in Salina.
Travis will discuss his latest book, Kansas Baseball, which explores the state’s rich baseball history, from the early days of Walter Johnson and George Sweatt to modern connections with Wichita’s League 42. The book also highlights pioneering women in the sport, including Joyce, Katie, and Alex, who made significant contributions despite barriers.
This is Travis’s second published work, following his 2022 book Celebrating Kansas Breweries: People, Places & Stories. An avid baseball enthusiast, Travis continues to celebrate the sport’s legacy and its impact on Kansas communities.
