Additional counties in our area under flood watch

A slow moving weather system will bring periods of showers and storms to the region for today through Sunday, and with it flood watches.

Two additional counties in our area have been added to the National Weather Service's (NWS) flood watches for the weekend.

A flood watch remains in effect through Sunday afternoon for the following counties in our area, according to NWS in Wichita.

Marion County

McPherson County

Saline County

Periodic rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected for today through Sunday. Total rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are likely, with locally higher amounts.

Flooding of low-land and flood prone areas are possible, along with modest to significant rises on area rivers and streams.

Additionally, NWS-Wichita has issued a flood watch in effect through Sunday afternoon for the following counties in our area.

Ellsworth County

Lincoln County
