Early Kansas Mennonites, heirloom grains topics of Old Mill program

LINDSBORG - Early Mennonites in central Kansas and heirloom grains will be the topics of the upcoming Virtual Wednesday Zoom presentation from the Old Mill & Swedish Heritage Museum in Lindsborg.

The free presentation is scheduled for 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday and will be moderated by Lenora Lynam, senior archivist. Email [email protected] to register and to receive the Zoom link for the presentation.

Kristine Schmucker, curator of the Harvey County Museum in Newton, is scheduled to present Journey to Kansas, which looks at the immigration of early Mennonites to central Kansas.

Additionally, Sharon Entz, miller and owner of Crust & Crumb Bakery in Newton, is scheduled to demonstrate about growing and baking with Turkey Red winter wheat and other heirloom grains.

The program will be hosted by the Old Mill & Swedish Heritage Museum with support from Humanities Kansas.
