LINDSBORG - Bethany Lutheran Church has announced they have officially received a $500,000 grant from the National Fund for Sacred Places, for the support of the historic church's structure.
The church stated they are honored to be a recipient of this prestigious grant that will help stabilize the building used for worship, music, community events and more.
Bethany Lutheran Church is one of 30 organizations across the US to receive a total of over $8.7 million in grant funding. Thanks to the funds, it helps the church provide training, planning grants, technical assistance, capacity-building support and capital grants to congregations of all faiths.
The National Fund for Sacred Places is a program of Partners for Sacred Places in collaboration with the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The National Fund for Sacred Places provides financial and technical support for community-serving historic houses of worship across the country.
Bethany Lutheran Church was founded in 1869.
