Clara A. Vignery, 91, of Bennington passed away peacefully at her home on August 10, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. She was born July 21, 1934 in Minneapolis, KS to William Clarence and Mary Kathryn (Felton) Krone.
Clara and Garold “Wayne” Vignery Sr. were united in marriage on May 20, 1961. Clara was a salad girl at Asbury Hospital from age 16 until she married Wayne. After marriage she was a babysitter and homemaker. Clara enjoyed dancing with Wayne, knitting, crocheting, and making her famous cornbread and red velvet cake for family and friends at the Bennington Senior Center.
She was sadly preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Wayne, her parents and grandson Derek Edgerton and five brothers and six sisters.
Clara’s legacy of love and kindness will live on through her loving family. Her daughters Debby Edgerton of Salina, KS and Cindy Coleman of Florida. Clara was also survived by sons Garold Wayne Vignery Jr (Jennifer) of Bennington, Allen Vignery(Denise) also of Bennington and Melvin Vignery of Oregon. Her grandchildren include: Cassandra Edgerton, Cody Edgerton(Ashlynn), Sharon Gaughan, Christopher Coleman(Myrta), Jesse Vignery, Eric Johnston, Amanda Vignery, Terry Vignery(Julie), Sheila Searcy(Jim), Samantha Fyfe, August DeGraff, Jordan Vignery, Kevin Vignery(Shabri), Stephanie McDaniel(Chance), and many cherished great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held in memory of Clara at the Bennington Cemetery in Bennington, Kansas on August 23, 2025 at 4:00 PM. Following the service we invite all to join a celebration of life and fellowship at Bennington Bible Church, 824 N. Nelson, Bennington, Kansas.
