A strong cold front will be coming through the region this afternoon, and with it, storms for parts of our area.
According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, areas along and east of the Turnpike will have a good chance for some showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms could be locally strong with dime size hail and 50 mph winds (blue shaded area).
Severe thunderstorms are possible in far southeast Kansas with one inch hail and 60 mph possible (yellow shaded area). Very heavy rain is also possible with the stronger storms.
