The Local Food Works Foundation has opened applications for the 2025 Local Food Grant, offering up to $5,000 to support businesses dedicated to fostering a sustainable food system and serving the Saline County community. Applications are now being accepted and must be submitted by February 10, 2025.

“At Local Food Works Foundation, we believe that a thriving, sustainable food system strengthens our entire community,” said Kirsty Hartley, board president. “This grant is an opportunity to empower local entrepreneurs who are committed to making a positive impact on our local food system.”

The grant aims to fund businesses and organizations working to address food access, sustainability, and local food production. Past recipients have included farmers, food banks, and new local food business startups.

“Investing in local food systems isn’t just about feeding people—it’s about creating a resilient future for Saline County,” Hartley added. “We’re proud to support people and businesses that share our vision and values. Together, we can grow a healthier, more sustainable Saline County.”

Applicants are encouraged to visit the foundation’s website at LocalFoodWorksFoundation.org or email [email protected] for more details and application materials.
