Women’s Volleyball picked to finish third in KCAC

Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference women's volleyball coaches have picked the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes to finish third in the KCAC this season as the coaches conducted their annual preseason poll.

KWU, who won the KCAC Tournament last year and represented the conference in the NAIA Opening Round a year ago, return three key players in Rylee SerpanJosie Deckinger and Kelcey Hund.

Ottawa University was the preseason favorite, earning 164 points and nine of 14 possible first-place votes. Oklahoma Wesleyan was picked second with 159 points and four first-place votes.

KWU was third with 132 earning one first-place nod.

McPherson was fourth, followed by Saint Mary, Bethel, Evangel, Friends, Southwestern, Avila, Bethany, Sterling, Tabor and York.

Wesleyan will open the official regular season on August 19 in a triangular in Baldwin City against Panhandle State and Baker. Wesleyan's home opener is August 29 against Benedictine College at 7 p.m. inside Mabee Arena.
